My dad has really taken to this whole idea of wedding planning! To him, simple is just too simple. Whenever a regular idea is given he likes to bump it up a notch, or twelve.
Take our conversation about the rehearsal dinner...
"Meg, where are you thinking of having the rehearsal dinner?"
"I was thinking Dockside. Its really casual, easy, fried shrimp burgers and chips, it's laid back, kind of the theme I was looking for."
"Hun, that's a great idea. Really showcases the intercoastal."
a 30 second pause comes over him, then...
"OR we can rent boats, sail across the intercoastal, create a fire, picnic on the beach, and have an oyster roast!! What do you think?!"
"Um...that sounds great and all, but I think the resturant will do."
"Really? We can create our own fire?"
"No. We're good."
